Focal onset seizures: Levetiracetam at doses of 60 mg/kg/day for children significantly reduced focal seizures.38.7% of the levetiracetam group showed a ≥50% reduction in seizures, compared to 14.3% in the placebo group.
Generallized seizures: Studies indicate levetiracetam’s efficacy in controlling generalized seizures, particularly myoclonic and generalized tonic-clonic seizures, in children and adolescents.
Infants: A prospective study in infants (1-11 months) using levetiracetam oral solution showed that most (72%) experienced improvement in epilepsy severity, and the drug appeared well-tolerated.
